What To Do
- -[S16 Note: Gwen is a rarer toplane pick but is pretty strong currently with Dusk and Dawn, and especially in the hands of one-tricks who can abuse her kit to its fullest potential. She is basically an AP version of Fiora that is much weaker early game but scales just as well. Your goal in lane is to slow-push the wave as often as possible and be hyper aggressive to bait bad fights for Gwen inside your minion wave. You can always beat her pre-6 even in her W if you have ignite and minions.]
- -If she is even cs with you by 6, she can 1v1 and potentially kill you, so you will have to respect the R and punish her when it is on cd.
- -Another goal is to bait her W, and if she uses it, blind her and then walk back, Her W lasts 5 seconds, and I typically just wait for it to expire before engaging on her.
- -If I blind her she can't even hit me, so even though she is untargetable, I am too with blind. Play really aggro, and play around her W CD. Do not dive if her W is up.
Level-by-Level
Gwen can't do anything level 1, so run her down when she gets into range because she loses all trades.
Gwen W makes her untargetable if you're outside the mist, but that's okay. I like to bait her W, then for the next 5 seconds just blind her and sit outside her W until it goes on CD. When her W is down, you have a 17 second window to make her cry. She is very weak without her W early. If you want to fight her, you must be inside her W, but this makes her very strong, so only do this if she's low or if you have a minion advantage. She stacks conq fast and does a lot of damge when fighting you inside, .
Do not dive Gwen unless her W is down. If her W is down it is free, but if it is not, try to pretend to dive, bait her W, then reengage after if you have an opportunity.
[S16 Note: Gwen no longer needs to auto to recast her Ultimate. With the 3 casts of increasingly slowing ults, Gwen has high chase and burst potential post-6. When she casts her ults, try dodging them first (the cone hitbox is smaller the farther she is from you). If you get tagged, disengage by using Q-Auto to proc harrier and using your E to avoid her fully stacked Q].
