Strategy Guide

What To Do

  • -[S16 Note: Tenacity and Slow Resist rune does a long way here for helping with wither.]
  • -[S16 Note: So what is this loadout? Well, think about how Nasus ever wins against Quinn. Nasus only wins with his W wither ability, where he slows you with wither, which also slows your Attack speed, and then walking up to you to cane you to death.]
  • -[S16 Note: Because we no longer have Phase Rush, we need to go all in on Attack speed, move speed, slow resist, and armor pen. We also need to have enough damage so Nasus does not just heal everything back. We need to somehow outdamage his passive, fleet, second wind, and dorans shield.]
  • -[S16 Note: With lethal tempo and ignite, we can play the lane very aggressively early, denying stacks, and harassing him under tower or when he walks up to break a freeze. And we no longer need to micromanage autos to avoid procing phase rush, we can just full send on Nasus even after level 6.]
  • -[S16 Note: Yuntal + lethal give an insane attack speed steroid to counteract wither, and the lord doms 2nd item and full scaling runes ensure we can still deal enough damage to break through Nasus's sustain. And with swifties and slow resist rune, we can breeze through the wither slow. And the wither becomes fully negated once we pick up PD, which gives even more attack speed and 10% MS.]
  • -How to win early if nasus plays passive is to slow push the waves, then when it crashes, the wave will slow push back towards you, and when it does, you will FREEZE AND ZONE TO DENY NASUS FROM FARMING!
  • -[S16 note: And if Nasus goes E max, he is significantly delaying his scaling potential just to obtain some gold. Absorb life and an early refill pot can help sustain through his E spam.]
  • -Fun Fact: If you blind nasus right when he presses W, you will actually cancel his wither lmfao. This requires perfect timing of course, but very cool if you succeed with it :)
  • -Also, your Vault can cancel Nasus's Q if you time it correctly since it is programmed as an auto attack, so keep that in mind!

Level-by-Level

Matchup Tip

Matchup Tip 1: [S16 Note: Phase Rush is gone, so after Nasus withers you, your only option early is to auto him 1-2 times before performing matchup tip 2].

Matchup Tip 2: Your E cancels his Q auto, so if he Qs you, E him during his Q and his Q animation will go off, but it wont hit you or do damage. His next auto is his Q still, but vaulting his Q to cancel it will buy you time to cancel it from hitting you before you try to escape. When withered, it will also create space so he cannot smack you before his wither wears off.

L1

Conduct the Quinn Cheese level 1 and then run him down. He will use his E, but you win the trade. Just run out of his E circle and keep hitting him until he is under his tower.

L2

Play the slow push game early so Nasus can't lifesteal or get his stacks. His E CD is the same as your E, so keep that in mind because his E will hurt in lane.

L3

Crash the wave and ping for a dive, dive yourself, poke him under tower for every CS he goes for, or cheater recall. You want to bully Nasus as hard as you can early game, and doing one of these options will grant you the early game lead that you need.

L6

If you are trying to all-in him, ignite him early so his R doesn't heal him as much. [S16 Note: Since we don't have Phase Rush anymore, try to not extend too far during laning phase once nasus gets ult and has Ghost/Flash ready. If we do end up getting engaged on with wither R ghost, kite Nasus as best as you can leveraging lethal tempo ramping attack speed and your ticking ignite to try and kill him inside his R or kite to safety. If he was low before ulting and if you have item advantage on him, there is a decent chance you may be able to kill him.

Once we get some items, we will be able to completely negate his wither while still being able to kill him either alone or with team.]
