What To Do

  • -Udyr's only threat against us during laning phase is his recasted E engage, where he becomes CC immune for 1.5 seconds and can stun us with an auto-attack. This combo is not a huge threat on its own early, but it is very powerful for setting up gank, since you cannot vault him and create the distance to survive his high single-target burst damage while stunned.
  • -You can tell when he has his recast passive when the bar under his HP becomes yellow (red means he has a recast immediately available). Play back when his passive is off CD so you do not get engaged on by his recast E.
  • -If he ever does try to engage with his E with no passive, you can safely E him to create distance - he cannot get onto you without flash.
  • -Otherwise, he is has incredible sustain and mitigation with his turtle form, making it hard to solo-kill him in lane. Your goal will be to farm up as many minions and plates as you can to outscale him. You should start doing some serious damage at 2-3 items. Mortal 2nd or 3rd at latest will be very good into him to reduce his w and conquerer healing.
  • -Udyr's recasted R will start hurting once he picks up a haunting guise, so continue to farm and scale, freezing when possible to deny him cs and exp before then.
  • -You can roam, but not too much, since Udyr melts towers incredibly quickly and stat check you into oblivion when you get back.

Level-by-Level

L1

Look for a quinn cheese. He is very weak at level 1 so zone him from wave and harass with autos. If he is running ghost or exhaust, be careful of an all in from a recasted E. Otherwise safe to harass, and save e for when he tries to walk up to you.

L6

He is weak offensively early and will rely on minions and turtle stance to sustain your damage. He has less sustain without mana, so play confidently and harass him in the early levels. Cancel his E engage when he has no passive, and play back when it is up.

L1

Watch for ganks off his recasted E - consider an early flash so he does not get his stun off and combo you with his jungler.
