Strategy Guide

What To Do

  • -Level 1, start Q or E depending on comfort. Q is good to get better trades, but E is better if you are brush cheesing level 1.
  • -Shoot for level 2 first, then run her down if you get it. E her, then auto, Q, auto her to death.
  • -This matchup requires you to land Q, so make sure to not go near Vayne if your Q is down early on.
  • -I like to try long range Qs so if I miss, then I'm not screwed.
  • -Only use your Q if you can land it on her, try not to Q the minions because a good Vayne will run you down the second you use your Q.
  • -To bait Vayne Q, you can auto-e-auto her randomly, and she will panic and likely use her tumble or condemn. The, when her Q is down, you use Q on her and beat her up.
  • -Stormrazor spike is huge in this matchup, where you will fly up to Vayne, auto her once then IMMEDIATELY use Q. The slow from stormrazor will zap her, which leads you to land a free Q on Vayne.
  • -When you land Q on Vayne when you have 1-2 items, you can 1 shot her, even if she is full HP.
  • -Post 6, if you blind Vayne she CANNOT reset her tumble invisibility, so go ham if you land Q on her post 6 with a huge trade.

Level-by-Level

Matchup Tip

Matchup Tip: If you want to do an aggressive trade with Vayne, start the combo with your E first. Vayne will get scared and likely use her Q to tumble away, which leaves you an opportunity to land a free Q on her since she's slowed and has no dash. Only do this if you are away from walls so that Vayne can't condemn stun you. [S16 Note: Similar to the Teemo matchup, lethality is highly recommended here, since she is powerless against Edge of Night. Going DPS or poke build is less ideal, since she can easily out 1v1 us late if we miss our Q (which a good vayne will dodge with her Q). Edge of Night here is better second, since you can still trade with other items with higher damage/utility. Once you have the Edge of Night, Vayne cannot do anything to you when you go for a kill, because EON renders her one damaging ability useless.]

L1

Quinn Cheese level 1 and then run Vayne down. Play aggro level 1 because Vayne's tumble does nothing against you early game. Your E screws vayne over from its slow, so even if she tumbles out, you can still run her down for some autos.

L2

Vayne will likely start W, and so make sure to blind vayne when you want to trade with her. Vayne wins all trades if you miss your Q, and a good vayne will use her tumble to juke your Q.

L3

Vayne's Condemn can be cancelled by Quinn's E if you time it perfectly as sceen clip. Play early game aggressively because you counter vayne in lane. Take trades when you land your Q, and if you miss, back off until it comes back up.

L6

If you blind vayne during her R, she can't get her invis tumble reset back, nor can she use any abilities, so Quinn's Q renders Vayne to be completely useless. Quinn outscales Vayne in the 1v1 at all points in the same contingent on your ability to land Q on her.
